Appoquinimink scored six fourth-quarter goals to power past No. 3 Wilmington Friends 11-10 in the quarterfinals of the DIAA Boys Lacrosse State Tournament Saturday.   Cross Ferrara led the way for the Jags, scoring a team-high four goals while adding three assists in the victory. Meanwhile, John Dunbar and Zach Bowen finished with three goals apiece and Dominic Barerra found the back of the net once to round out the Appo goal scorers.

Appoquinimink advanced to the DIAA Softball State Tournament Quarterfinals on Saturday morning, knocking off No. 10 Smyrna, 7-3.

After a collision on Route 1 near Townsend, the two drivers got out of their cars and started fighting. Later, while waiting in his car for police, one of the drivers suffered a cardiac arrest.
