Middletown police are seeking a man they said robbed three businesses since Aug. 25, including Purple Sage Herbs & Gifts on West Main Street Wednesday. He also robbed the Food Lion on Route 301 Aug. 25 and Elana’s Broad Street Florist on North Broad Street Aug. 26.

Each time, an undisclosed amount of money was taken. At the Food Lion, the suspect bought an iced tea and when the register was opened, he jumped the counter and removed cash. It was classified as a theft because he did not have or imply a weapon.

At Purple Sage, he asked for change for $1 and when the register was opened, he tried to grab money. The employee fought with him and as he fled, he was able to remove cash in the robbery.

At Elana’s, he distracted the clerk and took her purse. The purse was recovered near West Lake Street and the money inside was removed.

The man is described as between 30 to 40 years old with brown hair and facial hair, tattoos on his arm, standing about 6-feet tall, and weighs 200 pounds. Police ask anyone with information on the man’s identity to call 376-9950.
