Kelly Longo is running for the Townsend Town Council. The election will be Saturday, May 2, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Town Hall.
How long have you lived in Townsend? Five years
Where do you live in Townsend? Townsend Station
Educational Background: business management, trade school, working on degree for labor science engineering.
Professional Experience: Assistant bookkeeper, manager of three different food chains, underground high voltage splicer, elevator mechanic.
Why do you want to be a member of council? So that I can be a part of the decision-making process of our growing town. It means a lot to me.
What do you see as the most important issue in Townsend? How would you deal with this issue if you were elected? All issues in town are important. The one that is most important to me are the changes and updates to our charter. I would work closely with council, our town attorney, office staff and residents to fix any concerns that we may have as a community.
What is one thing you would like to accomplish to help improve the town if elected to council? I would like to be part of the construction, safety and the opening of our town park so that our residents can become more of a community.
What would you like Townsend to look like when your term concludes in two years? At the end of my two-year term, if elected, I would like to see our town grow with the hometown charm and safe environment that drew our residents to the Town of Townsend.
