Leadership Cares of Delaware along with Brick Mill Elementary is hosting a food drive to feed the less fortunate in Delaware for the Thanksgiving holiday through Friday, Nov. 13.
All food items collected will be donated to the Food Bank of Delaware for distribution. Leadership Cares of Delaware is a Chapter of Leadership Cares, which relies on volunteers to help mentor students as well as educate children on nutritional education.
Leadership Cares of Delaware & Brick Mill Elementary is hoping to collect 450 pounds of food. With this being the inaugural year, the goal is for this to become an annual hunger relief effort. This allows students to learn about worldwide hunger issues and at the same time create a plan to address the hunger problem in our local area. With the students getting directly involved in a Food     Drive this makes them feel good that they were involved in helping those who are in need of help.
The Food Bank of Delaware relies on local support to provide enough food to serve close to 90,000 Delawareans each year.
