Appreciation Day location change
Mount Calvary Baptist Church
The Appreciation Day celebration for Associate Pastor Imogene Bryant on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 3 to 7 p.m. has switched locations and will be held at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 300 New St., Middletown.
The church will sell dinners Friday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. Chicken dinners will be $10. Fish dinners will be $10. Spare ribs will be $12. Chicken breast will be $11. Available sides include macaroni and cheese, green beans, rolls and sweet potatoes.

Consecration Sunday
Tree of Life Evangelical Lutheran Church
This Sunday, Nov. 1 is Consecration Sunday: moving Forward in Faith, as an act of worship, the congregation will place estimates of giving for 2010 on the altar.
Nov. 1 is also All Saints Day. In preparation, the church urges you to submit a Remembrance Card with the names of people who have passed away over the last year Thanks to all who are giving many hours to prepare the new church and grounds in Odessa. Tree of Life will receive New Members Sunday, Nov. 15. The Hilltop Lutheran Neighborhood Center welcomes Delaware Lt. Gov. Matthew Denn as the guest speaker at this year’s Second Annual Recognition Dinner/Fund Raiser.
Tree of Life Evangelical Lutheran Church Sunday Worship Service is at 10:30 a.m. at Brick Mill Elementary School. Sunday School for kindergarten through sixth-graders begins at 10:20 a.m.

Skyline Boys Concert
New Covenant Church
He Gospel quartet “The Skyline Boys” will perform a concert Sunday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. at New Covenant Presbyterian Church.
The group consists of Dennis Powers, Bob Nitz, Rob Nykamp and Jodi Hosterman.
There is no admission fee, and tickets do not need to be purchased in advance. A freewill offering will be received during the performance. For more information, call New Covenant Church at 378-4446.
New Covenant Church is located at 1125 Jamison Corner Road, across Boyds Corner Road from the Cedar Lane Elementary School.

Annual Homecoming  Service
Mt. Pisgah U.A.M.E. Church
Mt. Pisgah U.A.M.E. Church will host its Annual Homecoming Service Sunday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. with Evangelist Gaitha Brown from St. Daniels UAME Church of Newark.
Sunday Nov. 22 will be Annual Cale’s Family and Friends Day
The 11 a.m. worship service will have Minister Kia Reed from Abundant Life Restoration Center of Centerville, Md. The 3:30 p.m. worship service will be the Rev. Micheal Scott from Jerusalem Baptist Church Temperanceville, Va.
All  are welcome. Mt. Pisgah U.A.M.E. Church is located on 516 Old Summit Bridge Road. The Rev.Elwood is the pastor. Sunday service starts at 11 a.m., and every third Sunday is youth Sunday.

Food Boxes, Pot Luck Dinner
St. Anne’s Episcopal Church
Food Boxes will be available for up to 10 families on the first Monday of every month, from 6 to 7 p.m., starting Nov. 2. Use the Cox Street entrance to the church.
The Pot Luck Dinner will be the first Monday of every month, starting Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. Bring a dish, bring a friend!
In addition to Sunday services (see the Church Directory), every Wednesday a Healing Service is celebrated at 10 a.m. and Evening Prayer is celebrated at 5 p.m.

Dale U.M. Church will celebrate their Annual Homecoming at 11 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 25.

St. Joseph Parish
The Over 55 Group of St. Joseph Parish, Middletown, will meet in Price Hall Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. The guest speaker will be Brenda Rettig of Kreston Wine and Spirits, who will discuss fundamentals of Holiday Wine and Food Parings. Refreshments will be provided by the Social Committee.

Bazaar, Dinner
Immanuel U.M. Church
The annual church bazaar and dinner at Immanuel United Methodist Church will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the church’s fellowship hall and will feature baked goods, attic treasures, crafts, candy and soup. Lunch will be available.
Immanuel’s famous chicken dumpling and ham dinner will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Dinner is served family style and includes chicken dumplings, ham, turnips, green beans, cole slaw, sweet potatoes, rolls, drink, and dessert. Dinner is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and younger.
Takeouts are available. All are welcome to attend. The church is located at 209 Main St. in Townsend. There is plenty of parking behind the church and it is handicap accessible. For more information, call 378-8203.
