Winter baseball camp at St. Georges Tech

St. Georges Tech High School will host a six-week Spring Training 2010 baseball program for players in grades 1 through 12 from Jan. 24 to Feb. 28.

St. Georges head coach John Green will direct the program in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy. Sessions are offered in advanced hitting, pitching and catching lessons at a cost as low as $99 for six weeks. Space is limited.

Wrestling clinic at Appoquinimink

The first Appoquinimink High School Wrestling/Coaching clinic will be held on Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $30 and includes T-shirt and pizza lunch.

The featured clinician is David Crowell, currently in his seventh year as head coach at Nazareth (Pa.) High School. His coaching resume can be found at

The clinic will focus on proven techniques from the standing position for wrestlers, along with other techniques Crowell has found productive.

Also, personal trainer and motivational speaker Marcellus Beasley will conclude the clinic with in- and out-of-season workouts and tips on proper dieting during the season.

Participants should wear wrestling shoes, shorts and T-shirt.
