  •      A 19-year-old Middletown man was arrested on DUI and several other charges on Feb. 14 after Middletown Police officers were dispatched to North Cummings Drive in the Middletown Crossing neighborhood in reference to reports of a suspicious vehicle.
Middletown Police said that upon arrival at 10:43 p.m., officers located an occupied Blue Dodge Charger that had its engine running with a non-responsive driver, later identified as Gregory E. Sayers, of the fourth block of S. Cummings Drive. The officers noted the locked vehicle was in drive and the driver had his foot on the brake.
Police said that Sayers fled after they awoke him. They said he failed to stop at the officers command and committed numerous traffic violations as he drove on North Cummings Drive.
Police said Sayers pulled into a driveway and attempted to flee on foot. Once encountered, police said Sayers resisted arrest and was taken into custody.
Officers said they discovered marijuana and numerous prescription pills in his vehicle.
Sayers was charged with DUI, disregard a police officer’s signal, possession of a narcotic Schedule II Oxyycodone, possession of non-narcotic Schedule IV Clonazepam, possession of marijuana, unsafe speed, stop sign violation and resisting arrest.
Sayers was arraigned and released after posting $2,850 secured bond.
