  • James H. “Jim” Sinex, 81, of Townsend, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2012 in the presence of his daughter, Beth Ann, at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE.

  • James H. “Jim” Sinex, 81, of Townsend, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2012 in the presence of his daughter, Beth Ann, at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE.
    Born on February 13, 1930 in Middletown, DE, he was the son of the late Harry Smith Sinex and Jeanette (Reynolds) Yearsly.
    As a young man, Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a medic in Germany.  In 1987, he retired as a Lieutenant with the New Castle County Paramedics.  Jim, along with his wife, Betty, were the proud owners of Sinex Pools for 38 years.
    Jim’s passions included spending time with his family and friends, watching NASCAR races, hunting and fishing.  Always dedicated to his pool business, he found great pleasure in working on swimming pools.
    He will fondly be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Ann (Coverdale) Sinex; daughter, Beth Ann Mittelsteadt; son, Jimmy Sinex; five grandchildren, Marissa M., Monica M., Jake S., Jordan S., and Jaclyn S.; seven great-grandchildren, as well as many dear friends.
    Funeral services were to be held Tuesday evening, January 17 at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 209 West Main Street in Townsend, where friends visited with his family from 4-6 p.m.  Interment was at 11 a.m., Wednesday morning, January 18, in Forest Cemetery, Middletown.
