Edwin N. “Eddy” Macky” McKamey, Jr., 68, of Townsend, DE passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 28, 2012.
He was an over the rode truck driver for Delaware Express of Elkton for the past 11 years. He touched the lives of many throughout his travels on the east coast, as well as those of his colleagues.
Eddy, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, enjoyed classic cars and trucks and hunting. His BBQ’s were the highlight of family gatherings, along with his appearance as Santa. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed being with his best friend and great-grandson, Walter Johnson. Eddy will always be remembered by those who were blessed to know him for his gift of making others laugh when sharing his wonderful stories and jokes. His love and friendship will greatly be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin, Sr. and Ruth McKamey, as well as by his sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Cliff Longhorn.
Eddy leaves many wonderful and cherished memories to his loving wife of 30 years, Helen; his daughter, Kathy Graham of FL; three step-children, Karen Fahey of Middletown, Susan Ellis and Harry Ellis and his wife, Mary Ann, all of Elkton, MD; two brothers, Vaughn McKamey of Newark and Tommy McKamey of New Castle; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, as well as many dear friends and colleagues.
Funeral services will be held 6 pm on Thursday evening, February 2 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street in Middletown, where friends may visit with his family one hour prior to services. Interment will be private.
