  •   After a first half that saw host A.I. DuPont hopeful for an upset, the Appoquiminink girls’ basketball team got back to basics and cruised to a 60-36 victory Thursday night, finishing their first season in Blue Hen Conference Flight A undefeated.   “It feels good,” said senior guard Amani Clark, who led all scorers with 22 points. “We’ve all worked so hard and grown so much as a team this season.   “We’re honored to do that and happy for our team, but we have to stay humble,” added junior guard Ashley Smith, who supported Clark’s effort with 18 points of her own.   The Tigers trailed by two points (25-23) at halftime, but spurred by Clark’s nine third quarter points and stifling defense, the Jaguars (17-1 overall, 12-0 Flight A) limited A.I. to just 13 points after halftime and cruised to their 13th win in a row.   “I don’t know if we overlooked A.I., but when we started as cold as we did, we got down a little bit,” Jags coach Daniel Pisani said. “A.I. being within two at halftime was a wake-up call.”   E-mail Chris Stevens at chris.stevens@doverpost.com
