Coming off of an impressive 59-57 win against Flight B champion Hodgson, St. Georges Tech boys basketball coach John French was afraid of a hangover against host Mount Pleasant Friday night.
“I tried to prevent it, but we were just flat tonight,” French said after the Hawks trailed the entire game and fell 70-64 to the Green Knights, snapping a three game winning streak. “It’s the flattest game we’ve had all year, but take nothing away from Mount Pleasant. They took us out of our game tonight.”
The Hawks (14-5 overall, 9-3 Flight B) trailed 16-6 after one quarter and fought an uphill battle the rest of the way. They closed to within five points (58-53), but were unable to get any closer.
Raymond Anderson led St. Georges with 28 points, Donte McGill scored 19 and Aaron Tilghman added 15 points.
