With the Middletown Olde-Tyme Peach Festival approaching, so is the application deadline to enter into the parade.

Applications to be in the Aug. 18 parade must be submitted no later than July 31.

The parade will begin at 9 a.m. and participants should arrive at Everett Meredith Middle School on Broad Street by 7:45 a.m.

The parade route will precede left onto Broad Street to Cochran Square to perform, then right onto Main Street and right onto Catherine Street. The parade will end at Silver Lake and is scheduled to end by 10 a.m.

Anyone interested in performing at Cochran Square during the parade must keep their acts under two minutes.

Performers should be ready to perform once they reach the intersection of Broad and Main Streets and the DJ should have the music before the parade begins.

There will be trophies awarded for best of show, best non-performing adult marching unit, best non-performing youth marching unit, best performing adult marching unit, best youth marching unit, best float, best equestrian unit, best antique vehicle, best class vehicle and best antique tractor.

Judging will be based on originality, showmanship, crowd appeal, and how it relates to the peach theme.

Winners will be announced Aug. 18 at Cochran Square between noon and 1 p.m.
