The Middletown Jaguars will be having their inaugural season this fall.

The new travel football team is planning on having its first game Sept. 1 and they are still looking for players.

Coaches Will White and Jermill Graham said they are looking to have about 100 players total and that so far they have about 50.

The team, which will play with the United Youth Football League, is for players between the ages of 5 and 15.

Each player will get custom home and away game jersey.

There are teams from Wilmington, New Castle, Dover, Bear, and Newark that play in the league as well.

“It’s for the youth,” White said.

Graham said that coaching the team will help him achieve his personnel goals and dreams.

White works at the Johnson Controls Facility in Middletown and is raising his family in Middletown. He wants to continue to grow in the community.

His son Jalen, 6, will be playing this fall, and his other son Jordan, 4, will play once he is old enough.

Each player that registers will be given an opportunity to raise money through tagging and fundraisers, which will drastically reduce the overall expense of playing in the league.

The money raised during the fundraising efforts will go towards the child’s registration fee and equipment.

Players will be placed on teams based on age, and each team will play a season that will consist of nine to 11 games per regular season, playoff games and in a championship game.

Winning in the championship opens even more travel opportunities as the regional and national championships for the United Youth Football League are held in Florida.
