The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Delmarva Peninsula (with the exception of the Delaware beaches) through early evening.
In addition to drinking a lot of water to stay hydrated, the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) lists other precautions to take in the extreme weather:
Address heat cramps by resting in a cool place and drinking plenty of water.
If a person is experiencing heat exhaustion move them indoors or into shade, loosen or remove clothing and tell them to eat and drink water.
If a person is experiencing a heat stroke call 9-1-1, get the person indoors or into shade, tell them to take a cool shower or bath and drink fluids.
