  • After waiting more than 20 years, Sergeant Dwayne Wilson, a Middletown High School graduate, was presented the Bronze Star during a ceremony at the Delaware National Guard's Georgetown Armory, First Regiment Road, Wilmington, on Sunday, Aug. 5.
Wilson, of the 198th enhance signal battalion, earned his medal for his support of military operations from Jan. 17, 1991 to Feb. 28, 1991. Because of some administrative errors, Wilson was never formally presented with the award.
With help from public relations advisor Ron Gough and students who wrote letters on Wilson’s behalf, the military granted him a medal which he received in front of family members and Delaware National Guard soldiers.
