A 15-year-old Wilmington boy was arrested Aug. 14 after breaking into a Middletown home, police said.
At 1:06 p.m., Middletown police were called to the 500 block of North Ramunno Drive for burglary in progress.
The caller told police that an unknown male was trying to gain entrance into the residence.
Officers said that the basement window was damaged when they arrived and that the suspect was seen inside.
A perimeter was set up around the home after the suspect refused to comply with police.
The boy then exited the home through a different window and attempted to run, but was chased down and taken into custody, police said.
The juvenile, who's name will not be released because of his age, has been charged with burglary, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools and criminal mischief.
He was given a $10,000 secured bond and turned over to New Castle County Police on outstanding criminal warrants.
