Mr. Walters grew up on a dairy farm and in 1977; he purchased the 130-acre Delaney Manor Farm, which has since grown to more than 250 acres, the resolution reads. He also farms an additional 600 acres where he grows corn, soybeans and wheat.
In 2007, the Walters put their farm into the Delaware Agland Preservation Program.
Mr. Walters has been a Farm Bureau member for 11 years and has served as a county delegated.
