  • Frank William Doughty passed through the gates of Heaven on October 9th at Christiana Hospital, in Newark, DE;  he was 54 years old.  Frank was born in Chateauroux, France on July 5, 1958 to Frank and Peggie Doughty.
Frank attended Dover High School, and proudly joined the United States Navy thereafter.  Once he had completed his naval tour, he studied at Delaware Technical Community College, where he studied Industrial Plant Maintenance.  Frank took his abilities as a handyman, who could fix just about anything, and then found work as a pipe fitter and welder.  Frank was extremely proud of his tour in the Navy.
Frank was a rare soul, who exuded joy and happiness.  He was quick with a laugh, and always ready with a joke; he smiled easily, and shared his happiness with everyone around him.  Most importantly, he always tried to see the best in people.  Music was a huge part of his life, a gift that was given to him by his mother, who taught him how to play the guitar.  Frank was an incredible artist as well.  Frank was deeply religious, and could often be found spending his Sundays in front of religious programming.  Frank enjoyed volunteering his time with the little league, and was an apt crabber.  He was also a great cook, and was happiest when he was doing so for his family.  Frank was an animal person, and loved spending time with his cats, and treasured the time he had with his dog, Mitzie.  Frank was well liked, and loved by all who knew him.  He will be greatly missed.
He is predeceased by his parents Frank Doughty, Jr. and Peggie Doughty, and his sister, Cheryl Lynn Doughty.  He was also preceded by his longtime companion, his beloved dog, Mitzie.  He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Wanda Doughty, his sons, William (Billy) Doughty, and his significant other, Theresa Downes, and Dylan Doughty, and his wife, Mandi.  He is also missed by his sisters, Theresa Holden, and her husband, Thomas, Karen Courtnell and her husband, Duke, Sandra Manning and her husband, Thomas, and Debbie Spicer, and her significant other, Ed Gamm.  He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that he loved very much, as well as other family and friends.
A memorial Service for Frank was held on Monday October 15th at the Pippin Funeral Home, and burial took place at the Lakeside Cemetery in Dover.  Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
