Annie Louise “Nan” Hammond, 83, of Wilmington, DE and formerly of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Foulk Manor South in Wilmington, DE.
Born on October 17, 1929 in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late Maude (Allen) and A. Claude Fouracre. Nan, as she was affectionately known by many, was a graduate of the University of Delaware.
She retired from DuPont Company as an executive assistant after 37 years of dedicated service. She loved flower gardening and crafts and especially enjoyed attending plays and symphonies.
Nan was an active member of the Lifelong Learning Center at the University of Delaware, where she developed a love for sculpting.
She leaves many wonderful and cherished memories to her three children, Sandra McKinley and her husband, Chris, of Delaware City, DE, Jeff Hammond and his wife, Debbi of Kennett Square, PA and Suzanne Voris of Renton, WA; two sisters, Patty Lafferty and Carolyn Davis, both of Galena; a brother, Claude Fouracre of FL; eight grandchildren, Justine and Tara McKinley, Jaime, Stephanie, Mandy and Melanie Hammond and Catriona and Eilidh Voris; one great-grandson, Liam Voris-Wells, as well as by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10 am on Saturday, November 10 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street in Middletown, where friends may visit from 9:00-10:00 am. Interment will follow in Forest Cemetery.
