A 59-year-old Middletown man was arrested Thursday morning after police found seven marijuana plants growing on his property.
Police also found 11 firearms during a search at John N. Marshall's North DuPont Highway residence, said Delaware State Police spokesman Cpl. John Day.
More than 22 pounds of marijuana were recovered, police said.
The search and arrest was a result of a DNREC Fish and Wildlife investigation in the area of the 2700 block of North DuPont Highway in Middletown where Marshall lives, Day said. The investigation revealed that marijuana was being stored in the area.
After further investigation, State Police executed a search warrant on Marshall's residence.
Seven marijuana plants were growing on the property, totally more than 22 pounds. It was found inside the two barns and a mobile home on the property.
Police also recovered 11 firearms.
When Marshall arrived home during the search, he was taken into custody and taken to Troop 2.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quality and possession of a firearm and released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
