McCormick faced one-day champ, Jennifer, an attorney from Jersey City, N.J., and challenger, Melanie, a teacher from Philadelphia.
McCormick led after the first round with $6,600. Jennifer had $3,600 and Melanie compiled $2,200.
He maintained his lead in the second round, and finished "Double Jeopardy" with $11,600, ahead of Jennifer with $8,400 and Melanie with $7,400.
The "Final Jeopardy" question on "U.S. Presidents" asked who was the only President since Herbert Hoover not named "Time" magazine's Man of the Year or Person of the Year. The answer: Gerald Ford.
Melanie answered correctly and wagered $2,000 to get to $9,400. Jennifer responded with "Nixon," and lost $3,200 to end with $5,200.
Mike gave the correct response and added $5,201 to his total to finish with $16,801.
The Dec. 6 episode will air on WPVI Channel 6 from Philadelphia at 7 p.m., and on Channel 21 from Salisbury, Md. at 7:30 p.m.
