    Q. What inspired you to join the Marines?
    A. When I was three, my dad was in the Marines. It had an influence. Then from there I just stuck with it. It's interesting, and has always given me Goosebumps when saw them on television or saw a solider walking by.
    Q. What steps have you taken so far?
    A. I swore in, and have done all of my physical work, and have taken the ASVABS I have done everything so far expect go to boot camp.
    Q. When do you leave for training?
    A. Sept. 3, possibly sooner.
    Q. Are you excited?
    A. I'm very excited because I'm fulfilling a dream I've had since I was 3. It brings tears to my eyes thinking about it.
    Q. How are you spending the rest of your senior year?
    A. I've been busy. Between hockey, schoolwork and working out for the military, it's busy. I play goalie in hockey and work at Kohl's.
    Q. How often do you work out and what do you do?
    A. I run about a mile and half to two miles. I do arm exercises, squats, and pull-ups. I try to do as many as I can. I also do push ups and sit-ups.
    Q. Do you plan on making a career out of the Marine Corps?
    A. I do. As of now, I'm infantry, but the door is wide open.
