There is one thing certain for Middletown New Years Day – and that's the annual Hummer's Parade.
At 1 p.m. Jan. 1, the tradition of fun will continue downtown, traveling from South Cass Street to Park Place to Broad Street to Main.
Each year, cars and floats are decorated and people dress up to spoof major events that happened the previous year.
Jersey Shore parodies, political jokes, and just plain silliness travel the parade route for everyone to see.
Anyone can join the parade – floats should be put together on site at the vicinity of Middletown Environmental Testing Inc. at 100 S. Cass St the morning of the event.
The town of Middletown or any other specific group does not sponsor the parade.
