  • Nancy was born November 30, 1958 in Elkton, Maryland.  She is a graduate of North East High School, Class of 1977 and is a member of the National Honor Society.  Nancy received her Associates Degree in Religious Education from IBCT in 1989.  In 1977, she met her husband Timothy J. Stafford in the third pew of her church.  In that same church, 3 years later, they were married on June 7, 1980 and shared 32 more wonderful years together.  During that time Nancy and Tim were blessed with 2 great sons and a beautiful daughter.  Nancy was employed at Ames Department Store, Bluechips Auto Parts Manufacturer and General Foods as a warehouse worker.  Nancy was a small business owner for 15 years operating Moriah Daycare.  Nancy also worked for 10 years at Bright Horizons Daycare at Bank of America.
Nancy was loved by all who met her.  Her warm smile and blue eyes could make any one's day.  She loved Jesus and Jesus loved her.  Nancy was very active in her church where she held positions as Sunday School Teacher, Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the College, Elder and School Monitor.  Nancy was very active with the youth group, including taking children to Christian concerts of which she attended over 150 concerts.
In 2001, Nancy went on her first of 7 cruises to the Caribbean.  She visited 32 islands and was able to participate in many activities including jet skiing, para-sailing 1,800 feet high, scuba diving, snorkeling, horseback riding, hydro-foiling, swimming with sting rays and dolphins and hiking.  She even climbed the world famous Duns River Falls in Jamaica.  This experience so moved her that she decorated her house in resort style motif, with seven palm trees outside and twelve inside the house as well as many tropical plants.
Nancy enjoyed being with her family, friends and co-workers.  She loved being a mom to Jamie, Farrah and Seth and Nana to Shaun, Skylar, Hailey, Jase, Alorrah and Kylie.  Being in child care most of her career, she developed a special bond with the children and parents that she cared for.  Nancy was always close to her parents and their spouses.  She cherished her brothers and sisters along with her aunts, uncles and cousins and her children's spouses.
Nancy is survived by her husband Timothy J. Stafford of Middletown, Delaware; son, Jamie Stafford and his wife Tanya of Felton, Delaware; daughter, Farrah and her husband James Blevins of Middletown, Delaware; and son, Seth Stafford and his wife Katie of Middletown, Delaware.  She is also survived by six grandchildren: Skylar and Kylie Stafford of Felton, Delaware; Shaun, Hailey, Jase and Alorrah Blevins of Middletown, Delaware.  Nancy is also survived by siblings Laura Cosper and her husband Wayne of New Haven, Indiana; Henry Cook and his wife Kathy of North East, Maryland; Jacob Cook and his wife Tammy of St. Pauls, Virginia; Ted Dotson of Nottingham, Pennsylvania; Raymond Dotson of Romney, West Virginia; Gail Cross of Patrick, South Carolina; and Cindy Payne of Middletown, Ohio.
