  • Police: Suspect stole truck and tried stealing tires

  • At 11:30 p.m. Jan. 1, officers received a call from a concerned citizen who noticed the suspect removing tires from the parking lot of the BP Gas Station at 3622 South DuPont Parkway.

  • Delaware State Police are looking for a man who they said stole a truck and then tried stealing tires from a gas station parking lot in Townsend.
    At 11:30 p.m. Jan. 1, officers received a call from a concerned citizen who noticed the suspect removing tires from the parking lot of the BP Gas Station at 3622 South DuPont Parkway.
    They said that the unknown man was loading the tires into a pick up truck.
    The caller confronted the suspect and took a picture of him, causing him to run away, abandoning the vehicle, police said.
    Police said that they later determined that the truck had been stolen from a nearby tow yard that same night.
    The suspect is described as a male in his late teens to early 20's with dark hair.
