  • Robert T. Wetterau, 78, of Townsend, DE died suddenly on January 2, 2013 at Christiana Hospital.
    Mr. Wetterau, born in Tamaqua, PA, lived his adult years in Claymont and Townsend, DE.  He was employed by ICI Americas and retired in 1991 after 31 years of service. He was also employed as a wrecking specialist consultant in the Claymont area.  He was a member of Atonement United Methodist Church, the American Hose Company and the American Legion, Post 25 of Middletown, Delaware.  He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
    Mr. Wetterau was widowed by Mary S Wetterau and is survived by his wife: R. Billie Turner-Wetterau; son: Bruce Wetterau of Kennedyville, MD; daughter: Pamela DeCostanza of Wilmington, DE; sister: Carol Rinker, of Maryland;  step children: Richard Turner of Townsend and Lynda Grantham of Hesperus, CO; grandchildren: Anthony, Danielle and Michael DeCostanza of Wilmington, Chuck and Kasey Turner of Townsend and Bear, DE, and Tyler Zimmerer of Aurora, CO.
    A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2 PM at the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW), Summit Bridge Road in Townsend, DE where friends may call beginning at 1 PM.   
    Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to: The Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
