  • A traffic stop on Summit Bridge Road Feb. 14 led to the arrest of a Wilmington man who police said had 29 grams of marijuana in his vehicle.
    At around 1 a.m. Thursday Middletown police pulled over Matthew W. Brenner, 24, for speeding and for having only one head-lamp functioning.
    When the officer approached Brenner, he said there was an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
    While speaking with Brenner, who resides in the unit block of Dartmouth Road in Wilmington, the officer observed a baggie containing marijuana, police said.
    The officer then searched the vehicle and found 29 grams of marijuana and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.
    Brenner was taken into custody and charged with possession, speeding, and a headlight violation.
    He was released pending his arraignment.
