A Middletown man who was wanted by police was tasered Feb. 15 after he fought off the officer trying to take him into custody.
Anthony Miller, 23, who resides in the 200 block of Liborio Drive was stopped by police in the Middletown Shopping Center on North Broad Street when officers became aware that he was wanted on an outstanding capias.
The officer approached Miller's vehicle in the parking lot and ordered him out of the car, police said.
Police said that Miller became combative with the officers as they attempted to take him into custody, and that he struck an officer several times.
The officer had to use his department issued Conducted Electrical Weapon to subdue Miller.
Miller was transported to the Middletown Police Department headquarters where he was charged with resisting arrest with force, offensive touching of a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.
He was released after posting a $1,000 secured bond.
Miller had been wanted to failing to appear in court for a previous drug violation.
