Thomas A. Savin, of Townsend, formerly of Middletown passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital after a short illness. He was 84 years old.
Born on December 8, 1928 in Middletown, DE, he was the son of the late Thomas R. and Edna (Spear) Savin.
Tommy served in the U. S. Army in his youth and was stationed in Alaska.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed going to Rehoboth to the beach where he enjoyed the ocean. Tommy could be found sunning in his chair on any nice day. He loved eating out with his friends and having chats on the front porch where he lived. Tommy collected pictures and articles about the MOT area in by-gone times. He was full of stories of earlier years in the area. Tommy was a gentle soul and known by many for his humor and mischievous ways. He will be greatly missed by many in the MOT area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Issacs and Elinor “Sis” Comegys.
He is survived by a nephew, Douglas Comegys of Fort Lauderdale, FL, as well as by many friends in the MOT area.
Services are private, with interment in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE at a later date.
