Huber's Crossing approved by NCCo Council
- Council approved the plan unanimously Tuesday 13-0.
New Castle County Council voted Tuesday to approve the plan for the Huber's Crossing shopping center.
The proposed 119,385 square foot shopping center will be located at the intersection of DuPont Highway and Bayview Road, just north of Middletown, near the Odessa Fire Company station.
Councilman Bill Bell (D- Middletown) said that it's a good plan with a good location.
"There are two smaller shopping centers, one north and one south," he said. "It's consistent with the community character."
Council approved the plan unanimously Tuesday 13-0.
The property was rezoned in 1993 under its previous owner, and was purchased by its current owner about six years ago.
Plans to build the shopping center have been in the works since 2009.
A traffic impact study was done by the Delaware Department of Transportation in 1993.
Roadway and intersection improvements near the site will have to be done before construction can begin.
