April is an exciting month for the performing arts. Consider these wildly diverse prospects:
DuPONT THEATRE - DREAMGIRLS April 2-7
The glitz and glamour of the Broadway powerhouse modeled on the rise of Diana Ross and The Supremes mounts the stage of our local treasure celebrating its centennial year. Additionally the venue has booked some one-night only special events including the hysterical Tracy Morgan and Bill Maher

NEW CANDLELIGHT THEATRE - LEGALLY BLOND April 5-May 19
The premiere of this show in the area. The movie is simply one of the most endearing comedies ever, under the skillful governance of Reese Witherspoon. Now it's turned into a musical.
NCT has a completely new set of lead performers with this one. Dan Dunn is helming and choreographer as well. He most definitely is one of the talented dance teachers!
FIRST STATE BALLET THEATRE - A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM April 13 and 14
Aisle Say had the opportunity to see a few excerpts from the show at their 1st Annual Residency at Wilmington Montessori. Artistic Director Pasha Kambalov has given dancer Alex Buckner the chance to choreograph. It appears to be as creative as the plot of the fairy tale itself.
UD REP ENSEMBLE - FEVER April 18-May 4
If Men are from Mars and women are from Venus, get ready for planets to collide!
Nothing is off limits in this wicked battle between the sexes in Theresa Rebeck’s new comedy, written specifically for the REP acting company. In Nick and Laila’s historic tavern, the regulars tussle over life’s big questions: male versus female, beer verses wine, possessions versus people.
