  • Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the man who tried to break into a home near Boyd's Corner last week.
    The New Castle County Police Department released a composite sketch late Thursday night of the man they say attempted to enter a home in the 100 block of Newbury Court in the Misty Vale Farms neighborhood, north east of Odessa, sometime before 8:50 a.m. on Friday, March 22.
    The would-be burglar reportedly fled the area after being confronted by the 52-year-old homeowner.
    The man is described as black, about 5'4", with a thin build, short black hair and a goatee. He last was seen wearing blue jeans and a dark blue sweatshirt.
    Anyone with information about the man's identity or whereabouts is asked to contact the New Castle County Police Department by calling (302) 395-8110 or emailing dprice@nccde.org.

    Tipsters who provide information leading to an arrest also can be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-333.
