  • Middletown High School students Isabell Arellano and Lexas Murray are among the young entrepreneurs who have to the final round of the Delaware Technical Community College's Diamond Challenge.
The girls and advisor Veronica Marine, who together make up the team Cookielicious, were among 11 finalists chosen from 24 teams that represented 13 Delaware high schools during the preliminary round of competition at Delaware Tech's three main campuses on March 20.
They will now face the remaining teams and individuals during the competition's final round at the University of Delaware in Newark on April 18.
The Diamond Challenge provides high school students with an opportunity to explore entrepreneurship as a future career path by requiring them to develop and present a business plan before a panel of business professionals, who judge them based on their proposals feasibility and growth potential.
All 11 winners of last month's preliminary round received a $500 check.
