LinkedIn, the social networking website for professionals, recently recognized the executive director of the Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce for the popularity of her profile.
Roxane Ferguson's profile was among the top 1-percent most-viewed on the website in 2012, according to the 10-year-old company based in Mountain View, Calif.
LinkedIn, which in January reached 200 million members in more than 200 countries and territories, allows its members to create profiles that detail their professional work history. It is most popularly used as a professional networking tool and job-listing resources.
Ferguson said she uses the LinkedIn, along with Facebook and Twitter, to promote the chamber's marketing initiatives.
Chamber president Tony Martina applauded Ferguson for earning the recognition and expanding the non-profit organizations presence online.
"Social media is an integral part of our chamber for keeping members and the community apprised of news and events," he said. "Having a media maven like Roxane on staff is key to our success in remaining in the forefront of the technology revolution."
