Looking for something to do Friday night? Consider putting the work week behind you with a little wine and a little art.

Friday evening, put the work week behind you and head over to the Gibby Center for the Arts. You'll be met with a glass (or two) of wine and a few up-and-coming local artists ready to talk shop on all things imaginative and original. No mundane numbers or budget-crunching allowed. Instead, the conversation will likely concern the latest works on display by the members of Gild by Association, a local group of creatives who experiment with everything from photography, oil and acrylics. One member even makes exquisite air-dried clay flowers that have to be seen to be believed.

Gild members would even be thrilled to discuss your spring sprucing up plans and how a new piece of art just might anchor the new look of your living room. There will be plenty to choose from, with prices ranging from $75 to $2,000.

Does this happen every Friday? Actually, no. This is your once-a-year opportunity. The event, an opening reception for the Gild by Association's members-only art exhibit, is free and open to anybody who loves art and loves talking to people who make art.

No reservations are required. Just pop in at 6 p.m., tomorrow and feel free to hang around until 8 p.m. The Gibby Center for the Arts is located at 51 W. Main Street. For more information, visit www.everttheatre.com/exhibits.php.
