  • A 15-year-old Middletown boy suffered broken bones when his bicycle was struck by a car Wednesday evening, according to police.
The teen was heading east on south side of East Main Street just before 8:45 p.m. when his bicycle was struck by a 2006 Toyota Corolla as he was crossing Dickerson Boulevard, Middletown Police Chief Henry Tobin said.
The teen was flown to Christiana Medical Center where he reportedly was treated for a broken left ankle and a broken right collarbone.
Tobin said the driver of the car, 26-year-old Ryan J. Zuvic, was heading south on Cleaver Road and had just crossed East Main Street onto Dickerson Boulevard when the collision occurred.
He later was cited for inattentive driving.
Another teen riding a bicycle with the boy was not injured, police said.
