James Joel "Jim" Hadaway III, 64, of Townsend, DE passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Kent General Hospital/Bayhealth in Dover, DE with his loving family by his side.
Born on July 30, 1948 in Elkton, MD, he was the son of Mary Ellen (Larrimore) and James Joel Hadaway, Jr.
Jim proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1967-1971. For twenty-two years he worked in the poultry profession. Most recently he worked for Advance Auto Parts in Smyrna.
He was an avid Ravens fan and especially loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jim is survived by loving wife of 16 years, Helen V. (Carroll) Hadaway; eight children, Tina Harrold and husband, Joe; Albert "Bunk" Rhoades and wife, Jill; Jennifer Edgar and husband, Dennis; George Rhoades and wife, Ashley, David Rhoades, Ralph Rhoades and wife, Andrea; Scott J. Hadaway and wife, Amanda and Jessica C. Hadaway; brother, Timothy M. Hadaway; sister, Deborah Hoffman; brothers-in-law, George, Jimmy and Mike Carroll; sisters-in-law, Brenda Cleveland and husband, Rick, Patti Pitcher and Terri Biggs and husband, Marvin; 14 grandchildren, Noah, Nick, Brock, Nathan, Emma, Calvin, Ethan, Colton, Matt, Dalynn, Raevin "Wilma", Rakelle, Mackenzie and Scott, Jr., as well as many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held 3 pm on Saturday, April 20, at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home LLC, 212 N. Broad Street in Middletown, where friends may visit with Jim's family from 1-3 pm. Interment with full military honors will be held 2 pm on Monday, April 22, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
