Cheswold Police have arrested a Middletown man after he was found to be carrying unlabeled prescription pills.
The Cheswold officer made the arrest at 6:45 p.m. April 17, when he pulled over a 1995 Jeep Wrangler for a traffic violation, said Chief of Police Christopher Workman. The officer noted the driver, identified as Matthew Estep, 43, seemed to be nervous. The officer conducted a search after Estep said he had pain medication in the Jeep's center console.
The officer retrieved 65 Vicodin pills contained in a clear bag and a prescription bottle, not belonging to Estep, containing 50 Soma prescription pills.
Estep was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession or consumption of a controlled substance without a prescription and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released on a $1,200 secured bond.
