Donald Robert “Don” Lynch, 80, of Middletown, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2013.
Born on April 26, 1932 in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Jesse M. and Mildred M. (Matthes) Lynch.
Don proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic during the Korean War. He continued his training as a radio-television-electronics technician at the Radio Electronics Institute in Philadelphia, PA. E.I. DuPont de Nemours co-hired him as an electronics technician, where he dedicated 30 years of service. Upon retirement, Don spent 28 years in Springfield, VT enjoying skiing, a photography business and riding motorcycles. He had a life-long passion for trains.
Don is survived by his wife, Aline, of Springfield, VT; a sister, Carol Barnshaw of Reading, PA; three daughters, Ann Gahan and her husband, Jack, Dawn Scott and her husband, Steve all of Middletown and Susan Miller of Wilmington, DE; six step-children; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
His happy attitude and fun-loving nature will fondly be remembered.
A committal service with full military honors will be held 10 am on Thursday, April 25 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
