  • More than 200 young ladies put their Irish dance skills to the test Saturday during Emerald Isle Academy of Irish Dance’s Fifth-Annual NAIDF Open Platform Feis at the Everett Theatre.
The competitors, who ranged in age from 4 to adult, came to Middletown from as far north as Rhode Island and as far south as Virginia to show their skills at the event, sponsored by the Emeral Isle Academy, which has seven locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Newark, Del.
In addition to competing for prizes at the feis, the girls also hoped to earn scores that would help them qualify for North American Irish Dance Federation's national competition in Galloway, N.J., this July.
