The title for World Trade Center of Delaware's third annual fund raiser at The Queen on May 8 has double meaning. President Rebecca Faber and Director of Client Services Sean Curran have for the past several years been developing initiatives to facilitate trade and global awareness in Delaware. That's their day job.
Secondly, the ladies are formidable party planners. Aisle Say was a guest at the outrageously entertaining and diverse event last year. Dole is a sponsor. One was greeted by an impressive arrangement of what must have been 3000 bananas!
The entertainment was equally world class. (see picture of Aisle Say giving the belly dancers valuable instruction)
World Trade in Motion 2013 is an international trade celebration, fundraiser and awards presentation to recognize the achievements of local organizations and individuals in the global marketplace.
If your company does international trade one would assume you know WTC of DE. If you have global aspirations or wish to network with those who are in the game, this is the event to attend.
Members have access to 320 World Trade Centers in over 87 countries, providing valuable market intelligence and current business contacts.
The awards presentation includes the Excellence in International Trade Award and the “Hank” Award for Innovation in Economic Development, named for inaugural recipient (2011) Henry Beckler.
Entertainment next week is once again worth the price of admission alone. Philly Capoeira is a Philadelphia based Brazilian group that infuses not only dance, but martial arts, gymnastics, Portugese language and of course MUSIC. The second group, Leana Song is a drum and music ensemble specializing in Afro Cuban and Ghanaian drumming through the lens of American jazz. Wow. That sound's cool.
Price of admission includes a buffet of authentic international food and entertainment. Wine, beer and cocktails are available at a cash bar.
Wednesday, May 8, 2013, 5:30-9:00 p.m. World Café Live at the Queen.
