  • Larry Dean Shuler, age 55, of Middletown, DE, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
    Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Ralph and Virginia Shuler. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Roberts of Bear, DE and two brothers, Richard Shuler of Saluda, SC and Ralph “Budd”) Shuler of Monetta, SC.
    Larry retired from the Chrysler Corp. after 31 ½ years. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid crabber. He was a giving and caring person, taking care of his family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
    Larry is survived by his wife of 38 years, Shanna Pierce Shuler and a daughter, Adrienne Shuler Blair both of Middletown; three sisters Dawn Warren of Milford, DE; Judy Buchanon (Pete) of Williamsport, MD and Patricia Burns of Pottstown, PA; four brothers, Duane V. Shuler (Bonnie) of Preston, MD; Keith “Sammy” C. Shuler (Cathy) of Salem, SC; James R. “Rusty” Shuler (Kim) of Chesapeake City, MD and Thomas L. Shuler of Clearfield, PA; his best friend, Martin Gale of Townsend, DE and his special Hospice Nurse, Beverly who went above and beyond the call of duty for him. In addition he is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Larry!
    A Memorial service will be held in celebration of his life 2:00 pm this coming Friday, May 10 at Old Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church, Rt. 71, south of Middletown, DE. Interment will be Old Saint Anne’s Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Larry’s memory to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd, Wilmington, DE 19810.
