A 20-year-old registered sex offender from Middletown is accused of possessing and emailing child pornography, including a sexually-explicit video involving a young boy.
Kevin H Boone was arrested Thursday, following a raid at his home in the 300 block of Senator Drive in the Fox Hunter Crossing neighborhood, according to the Delaware Department of Justice.
During raid, police reportedly seized multiple computers and other digital media devices on which they later discovered emails containing multiple files of child pornography.
A spokesman for the department said at least one of the files contained a video depicting an unclothed boy younger than 10 engaging in a sex act with an adult male.
“The images and videos of child pornography that we uncover during our investigations record the violent sexual assault of young children,” Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden said in a press release issued today. “Predators trade these images and videos as currency in a virtual criminal marketplace, which our Child Predator Task Force is focused on attacking every day.”
Boone is charged with 25 counts of dealing in child pornography.
He is currently being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna on a $250,000 secured bail.
According to the Delaware Sex Offender Central Registry, Boone was previously convicted of dealing in child pornography in 2010.
He reportedly told police that he is currently enrolled at Delaware Technical and Community College.
The investigation that led to Boone’s arrest Thursday began when the Child Predator Task Force received a tip that led officers to Boone’s home, Delaware Department of Justice spokesman Jason Miller said.
Officers from the Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit and the Middletown Police Department assisted with the investigation.
