The next team meeting – the site meeting – will be held on at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Silver Lake Park in the parking lot behind the tennis courts.
Relay For Life T-shirts will be distributed and some last minute instructions. Teams will have the opportunity to volunteer to work in the Kid's Tent, Luminary Tent, and the Survivor's Reception to earn spirit points. Teams will also have the chance to sign up for the campsite decorating contest and the Pizza Party. Please bring any team money that you are ready to turn in and make sure your team name is on the envelope.
The Relay For Life of Middletown is Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8. The Opening Ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Survivor's Reception at 7 p.m. The Luminary Ceremony is Friday at 9 p.m. The Closing Ceremony will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
The Kids Tent will be open Friday from 5 to 11 p.m., closing for the Opening Ceremony and the Luminaria Ceremony. It will reopen Saturday morning from 8 to 10 a.m. The Kids Tent will offer entertainment, carnival games, and activities. Refreshments including cotton candy and popcorn will be available for the children participating. There will be an obstacle course bouncer and a combo bouncer. Face painting and crafts will be available. All kids activities are free and all children are welcome.
Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of the kids activities. Volunteers for the Kids Tent must be 16 or older . Team members who volunteer will earn Spirit Tickets, which will be used in a Chinese Auction. Volunteers do not have to be on Relay teams.
Food and concessions will be set up food court style. Vendors participating in the Relay Food Court are Pig-Headed BB-Que, DogTown, Blue Hen Concessions, and Bruster's Ice Cream on Friday from 4 to 11 p.m. The concession stand will offer coffee, tea, hot chocolate, snacks, candy, pretzels, water ice, and some breakfast items and will be open all night.
