  • Betty Anne Klair (Leach, Lawrence) 86 of Middletown passed away peacefully on June 4th 2013 at Broadmeadow Nursing Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 30th at 2PM, New Covenant Church, 1125 Jamison Cor. Rd., Middletown, DE. Born in Wilmington to Alice and Donald Leach on Aug. 9, 1926, she attended P.S. DuPont HS, she then worked for the DuPont Co. and Sears Acceptance Corp. Betty Anne spent most of her life singing and as lead soloist for The Interperters, The Blue Rock Chorus, The DuPont Chorus, The Brandywiners, (Sweet Adelines International) Diamond State Chorus, Ocean Bay Chapter and The Sounds of the Atlantic. Once moving to Middletown she sang in God’s Power & Light Co., The First State Chorale, The MOT Sing-A-Long and New Covenant Church Choir. She loved the theater and could be found taking tickets at The Everett Theatre. She also enjoyed playing Pinochle. She loved her family and friends. She in preceded in death by her parents Alice and Donald Leach, her sister Virginia Julian, a daughter Donna Lee Lawrence, her husbands Amos L. Lawrence ll and William Klair. Betty Anne is survived by her daughter Cheryl Shields, son Amos (Roy) L. Lawrence lll, grandsons Sean Lawrence and Daniel Lawrence, great- granddaughter Autumn Lawrence, Daughter and Son-in-laws Bonnie Lawrence and William Shields In lieu of flowers donations in memory in Betty Anne can be made to The Everett Theatre, MOT Senior Center and New Covenant Church.
