  • Middletown resident Richard Thorpe is one of five Delaware teens to land an eight-week paid internship this summer through the Bank of America Charitable Foundation’s Student Leaders program.
The 2013 Appoquinimink High School graduate is interning at the Appoquinimink Boys and Girls Club on South Broad Street and will attend a weeklong Student Leadership Summit in Washington D.C. this month.
“Teens are once again facing a tough time finding summer jobs,” said Chip Rossi, the Delaware market president for Bank of America. “Our Student Leaders program provides them the opportunity to earn and learn, while increasing the capacity of nonprofits to serve critical community needs.”
