  • The steamy temperatures during the day and downpour in the evening didn't discourage thousands of people from lining the streets to watch the 33rd annual Delaware City Day parade and fireworks show on Saturday.
The parade featured bands, performers, politicians and community groups -- many throwing candy to kids along the parade route. The festivities then continued into the night with a 20-minute fireworks show that went off despite drizzling rain that turned into a full-blown downpour as soon as the show ended.
