Two officers with the New Castle County Police Department recently were promoted to supervisory positions.
"With the promotion of these two officers, the agency's supervisory positions are now fully staffed for the first time in many years," New Castle County Police Chief E. M. Setting said in announcing the promotions early this month. "This helps bring greater accountability and quality of service to the citizens we serve within New Castle County."
The following officers were promoted on July 19:
Lt. Fred Calhoun – the 23-year veteran of the department currently serves as the traffic services unit commander and member of the police motorcycle team. He previously served in the patrol division, professional development unit and parks patrol unit. Calhoun was promoted to the rank of senior sergeant in 2006.
Sgt. Jim Henasey – the 16-year veteran of the department currently serves as an accident reconstruction specialist in the traffic services unit and as a member of the police motorcycle team. He previously served in the patrol division, mounted patrol unit and the special operations unit. He was promoted to senior corporal earlier in 2013.
