The Middletown Historical Society has announced some partial street closures during the 20th annual Old Tyme Peach Festival on Saturday, Aug. 17.
The Town of Middletown and DelDOT have agreed to allow the closure of Main Street from Broad Street to Scott Street; and North Cass Street from Main Street to Pennington Street between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. for the festival.
The following parking lots will also be closed to traffic and parking during the same hours on Aug. 17: Green Street at Town Hall, Boys and Girls Club, Witherspoon Alley, Verizon, and VHC Fire Hall; on Main Street at Forest Presbyterian Church; on Pennington Street behind Middletown Hardware (except customers), Cook Family Dentistry, and Grace Orthodox Presbyterian Church; and on North Broad Street behind the Academy Building (former Town Hall).
Any vehicles parked in those areas overnight Friday, Aug. 16 must be moved by 6 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 after which vehicles will be towed to allow vendor booth set-up.
The members of the historical society are sorry for this inconvenience, but hope residents will be able to enjoy this once-a-year community event, and they thank everyone in advance for cooperating.
