Michael E. Bortolametti of the 500 block of Silver Hill Crossing near Odessa and Cobie A. Roebuck of the 700 block of Marl Pit Road, north of Middletown, were found in possession of 100.1 grams of marijuana after police stopped their vehicle for speeding on Aug. 24, according to the Kent County, Md. Sheriff’s Office.
The arrests came after a deputy reportedly spotted their vehicle travelling 69 mph in a 55-mph zone on southbound Route 301 near Route 313 about 1:11 p.m.
Police did not identify which man was driving.
The arresting officer conducted a search of the vehicle after smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle, police said.
An undisclosed amount of cash also was seized during the search.
Both men are charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bortolametti and Roebuck each were initially held at the Kent County Detention Center on $10,000 bail.
